APPSC Group 4 Syllabus 2021, Selection Process, Exam Pattern

APPSC Group 4 Syllabus 2021 : It is essential for the applicants of the APPSC Group 4 examination to be aware of the scheme of examination, syllabus, and selection process. It is helpful for candidates planning to apply for the APPSC Group IV examination. Read the article to know about APPSC Group 4 Syllabus 2021 along with the exam pattern and selection process.

APPSC Group 4 Scheme Of Examination

The APPSC written examination for Group IV recruitment is an objective-type test. Here is the table to show the scheme of the written test that is conducted in the intermediate standard:

The questions for these papers will be at the intermediate level syllabus in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Not just intermediate standard, for some Group IV positions, the test is conducted in SSC Standard as well. Here is the table to show the pattern of the SSC standard test:

Candidates, who have applied for APPSC Group IV, will have to appear for both papers of the written test compulsorily. Based on the position to which they apply, they will have to take either the intermediate or SSC standard test.

The minimum qualifying marks in the written test will be specified by the convening authority on the official website. This minimum qualifying mark is relaxable at the discretion of the district selection committee or the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.

APPSC Group 4 Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the written test for Group IV recruitment. However, candidates shortlisted from the written test will have to get through the document verification, which is the next step in the recruitment process.

The shortlisted candidates from the written test that will be conducted in the format above will have to produce attested copies of required certificates and they should also bring their original documents at the time of document verification. They will have to produce any other particulars demanded at the time of document verification.

In case the details furnished by a candidate in the application do not go with the original documents that he/she produces during the document verification stage, the candidature will be rejected by APPSC. The District Collectors in the state are responsible for the document verification process for the candidates, who have applied for Group IV positions in the appropriate districts. The district collectors are also responsible for preparing the merit list. They will do the same based on the communal Roster.

So, the selection process comprises both the written test and document verification. Further, the appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their medical fitness. They will also have to get through the medical examination in the appropriate medical classification. He/she should be free from any infirmity, bodily defects. The candidate should have sound health and active habits.

Syllabus For Written Test (Intermediate Level)

As mentioned earlier, there will be a couple of papers in the written test for the recruitment of suitable candidates for the APPSC Group 4 positions. The questions will be in the intermediate level and here is the list of chapters for each paper in APPSC Group IV Written test for candidates applying for positions with intermediate standards:

Paper I – General Studies Paper

  1. Current Affairs
  2. Zoology
  3. Botany
  4. Chemistry
  5. Physics
  6. Economics
  7. Civics
  8. Geography
  9. History
  10. Disaster Management:
  • Mitigation measures/strategies
  • Prevention Strategies for man-made disasters
  • Causes and effects of natural disasters like drought/floods/tsunami/cyclones and earthquake
  • Concepts in disaster management and vulnerability profile of India/State of Andhra Pradesh.

Paper II – Secretarial Abilities

  • Numerical and arithmetical abilities
  • To improve analysis of the passage, re-arrangement of sentences
  • Comprehension
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Mental Ability (Verbal and non-verbal)

Syllabus For Written Test For SSC Level

For APPSC applicants, who have applied for the positions that conduct the written test in SSC standard, will have to the following chapters in the syllabus:

Paper I – General Studies, Mental Ability, and Language Ability

  • Mental ability
  • Geography and history of Andhra Pradesh
  • Current Affairs of national importance
  • Language Ability:
    • Absurdities
    • Vocabulary and usage detection of mistakes
    • Idiomatic Usage
    • Summarization
    • Comprehension

Paper II – Concerned Subject

Foundation of Education:

  • Education of Weaker Sections
  • Equality of Educational opportunities; Modernization and Education; Culture and Education; Social change and Education; Socialization and Education;
  • Jiddu Krishna Murthy, Vivekananda, Aurobindo, Tagore, Gandhi
  • Existentialism, Realism, Pragmatism, Naturalism, Idealism
  • Scope and nature of sociological and philosophical foundations of education.

Educational Psychology:

  • Statistics
  • Individual difference and its assessment
  • Learning
  • Growth and Development
  • Introduction To Educational Psychology

Trends in Education:

  • Recommendations of various Education Commissions and Committees
  • Common Entrance Examinations and Centralised admissions into the basic courses in Andhra Pradesh
  • Vocational Education and Vocationalisation of Education
  • Teacher Education
  • Lifelong Education
  • Education of the socially and culturally disadvantaged
  • International understanding

Candidates planning to apply for the APPSC Group 4 examination will have to wait for the notification release. The notification for the 2021 Group IV examination is expected to be released anytime soon by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission. The recruitment is going to be conducted for nearly 12 positions to fill up in government organizations in different districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh
