Defence Research & Development Organization invites online applications from eligible Indian job seekers who want an exciting & challenging career for recruitment of 494 vacancies for the post of Senior Technical Assistant ‘B’ (STA ‘B’) under Defence Research & Development Organization Technical Cadre (DRTC). DRDO will shortlist candidates through national level Tier I & II examinations. DRDO Senior Technical Assistant ‘B’ (STA ‘B’) Recruitment 2018 Eligibility criteria


Applicant should be a citizen of India.

Age limit (As on 29th August 2018)

Applicant should be at least 18 years old but not have attained 28 years of age. However, maximum age limit is relaxable for Central Govt. Civilian Employees, ESM, PwD, OBC, ST, SC, persons lived in J&K state during the period from 1st of Jan 1980 to 31st of Dec 1989 and Disabled Defence Services Personnel as per the rules of Government of India.

Essential Qualification Requirement

Applicant must have done graduation in Science or obtained diploma in computer science or technology or engineering or allied subjects in the needed discipline. Applicants waiting for result on 29th August 2018 are not eligible. B.Tech. or M.Sc. or B.E. candidates shall not be considered for the recruitment. DRDO STA ‘B’ Recruitment 2018 Application fee & Mode Of Payment

According to rules of Government of India, SC/ST/PWD/ESM candidates and all women are exempted from payment of application fee. Other candidates will have to pay a non-refundable amount of Rs. 100/- towards application fee through credit card / debit card / net banking.

DRDO STA ‘B’ 2018 Application Form & Process

The online webpage for submission of applications will be opened on 04 August 2018 and closed on 29 August 2018 (05:00 PM). Online applications will not be accepted after the last date. So, aspirants are requested to attempt online application as early as possible to avoid last minute rush. Application process is explained below

  • Open CEPTAM’s notice page available at the DRDO’s website or simply, click here 
  • Go to registration page and register online by entering your basic details
  • After going through online registration, you will get a ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’
  • Use your ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’ to login
  • After login, fill the rest details of your online application
  • Make payment (if you are eligible)
  • Submit all the details
  • Print your online application

DRDO STA ‘B’ Recruitment 2018 Selection Process

The entire selection procedure will consist of Tier I & II examinations and preliminary document verification. Both Tier I & II examinations will be conducted online i.e. Computer Based Test (CBT). Both CBTs will have objective type questions either in Hindi or English.

Tier – I

It will be for screening only. This test will be common to all the posts. The minimum qualifying marks for Tier-I is 35% for ST / SC candidates and 40% for UR/OBC candidates.

Tier-I examination will be held in the following cities- Agra, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Hamirpur, Vijaywada, Madurai, Gwalior, Varanasi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Gorakhpur, Siliguri, Kochi, Delhi NCR, Ranchi, Rajkot, Jodhpur, Chennai, Jammu, Raipur, Chandigarh, Bikaner, Jamshedpur, Pune, Patna, Bhopal, Panaji, Jabalpur, Bengaluru, Nasik, Itanagar, Balasore, Ahmedabad, Indore, Nagpur, Mysore etc.

However, exact date of Tier-I examination is still not disclosed by CEPTAM.

Tier II

Candidates qualified in Tier-I will be called for Tier-II examination. After Tier-II examination, CEPTAM will prepare a merit list and shortlist candidates for provisional selection and preliminary document verification.

Tier II examination will be a subject specific test. It will have 100 MCQs from a subject for which a candidate has applied. Maximum marks will be 100 and duration of exam will be 90 minutes.

DRDO STA ‘B’ 2018 Admit card (for both Tier I & Tier II examination)

CEPTAM will not send admit card by post. Admit cards will be available to download on DRDO’s website before 2 weeks to examination. The time & venue of examination, date will be given on admit card. The process to download is explained below
