IBPS SO Syllabus

The interested candidates need to go through a two tier process of recruitment which includes CWE held in two phases namely Prelims, Main Exam and tier II is interview. To get success in Prelims and Main exam, the candidates need to know the exam pattern of IBPS specialist officer. Each of these exams will follow a set pattern of questions and will shortlist the candidates for mains and interview and final list will be prepared by combining both main and interview scores.

  • The mode of preliminary examination is online i.e., it will be a computer-based exam. It will be not a pen-paper mode
  • The total duration allotted for the exam is 120 minutes
  • Only Multiple Choice Questions will be there in the exam
  • The total number of questions will be 150 which will be divided into sections of English Language, Reasoning, and General Awareness/ Quantitative Aptitude
  • For each and every correct answer, the candidate will be rewarded with 1 mark. But for each wrong answer, there is a provision of the negative marking and 0.25 marks will be deducted.

The IBPS SO prelim is scheduled to be conducted in the last week of December 2018 i.e. 29 December and 30 December 2018. The main exam will be conducted in the month of January 2019.

Selection Process

For the selection, the candidates will go through all the three stages of the prelims exam, main exam and interview. The applicant has to clear each and every phase in order to get selected as SO.

Firstly, the candidates will appear in the IBPS SO Preliminary examination. In this phase, the candidates will get shortlisted for the next stage i.e., Main exam in which professional knowledge will be tested. Those candidates who pass the main exam will go to the next round i.e., interview.

Finally, the candidate will be selected on the basis of performance in Main Exam and Interview. The interview is conducted by the participating banks and will be coordinated by the Nodal Bank.
