JEE Main exam is held twice a year, in January & April. JEE Main registration process for the January session commences on 3 Sep 2022 and the last date to apply online is 10 October 2022.

JEE Main [Jan] 2023 exam Notification and Information bulletin will be released on 3rd September 2022 on the website @https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. NTA will release a separate information bulletin for JEE Main [April] 2023 exam on 8th February 2023.
JEE Main Notification 2023 Pdf
The Joint Entrance Examination known as JEE is one of the most prestigious entrance exams in India being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). JEE Main exam is organized for the students who want to take admissions in top-rated engineering colleges in India like IITs, NITs, etc. JEE is formerly known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (or AIEEE) conducted by CBSE until 2018.
JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- The candidates who have passed class 12th examinations in either 2019 or 2022 (or) appearing in 2023 are eligible to appear in both Jan & April JEE Main 2023 examinations.
- There is no upper / lower age limit for such candidates.
- However, satisfying age limit requirements prescribed by the Colleges / Institutes in which they want to take admission will be mandatory.
Minimum Educational Qualifications and no. of subjects in the QE
For B.E. or B.Tech courses
A candidate must pass in 10+2 or intermediate exam with Maths and Physics as major subjects and one from Biotechnology/Chemistry/Biology/Technical vocational as a minor subject.
For B.Arch and B.Planning course
a candidate must pass the 10+2 exam with Mathematics.
Candidate must have studied at least 5 subjects in the qualifying examination.

JEE Main Application Fee for General/EWS/OBC Boys attending B.Tech./BE or B.Arch or B. Planning opting exam center in India is Rs. 650/- and for Girls and reserved categories of SC/ST/PWD/Transgender is Rs.325.

- All the JEE Main 2023 interested candidates can pay their application fee through online mode only.
- To pay JEE Main 2023 application fee online, candidates can use a debit/credit card or pay through net banking.
- Candidates will have borne processing and GST charges.
- Fee once paid will not be returned to the applicant under any circumstances.
All the candidates must note down that fee submitted in other modes like Bank challan, money order, demand draft, etc. will not be accepted by the examination conducting authorities.
JEE Main 2023 Application Form
JEE Main Application form 2023 will be available in online mode only. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted by the National Testing Agency.
Candidates interested to appear in JEE Main 2023 examination are required to submit only one online application form. If multiple applications are submitted, they will be rejected. At any stage, if found multiple applications submission and attending in more than one date/ shift, the candidature will be canceled.

How To Apply For JEE Main 2023?
To fill the JEE Main online application form, a candidate has to follow the below process.
Stage 1 – Registration/ Log in
- Visit the official website of the JEE Main 2023 exam
- At the homepage, click on the button ‘Fill Application Form’ to fill up details
- ‘Fill Application Form’ button will take the candidate to the next page which will be divided into two sections. The left section is made for new candidates and the right section is for already registered candidates.
Already Registered
- If you are already registered, then you only need to login to your account by filling details like application number (issued at the time of January registration), password, and security pin or Captcha.
- Hit the login button and you will be landed into your already registered account with details, here you cant edit the details.
- You can edit the details if any only during the application correction window period.
New Registration
- In case, if you are a new member and not registered with the website then you need to stay in the left section of the landing page.
- There will be an ‘Apply for JEE (Main)-2023’ button. Click to land onto the next page where you will find complete Instructions and Procedures on how to fill and submit an online Application Form for JEE (Main) – 2023.
- It is advised to read those instructions carefully before moving to the next page.
- You can go to the next page by checking the box of ‘I have downloaded Information Bulletin and read all the instructions’.
- Once you check the box and press the ‘Proceed to apply online’ button, it will take you to the next page where your ‘Authentication form’ or registration form is available.
Step 2 – Fill/ Complete the Application Details
- On this page, you need to fill up a form with the following details – Nationality, state of eligibility, select identification type, enter identification number, candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, and Captcha.
- Once you filled the form with the needed details, you need to press the ‘Submit’ button.
Stage 3 – Upload Scanned Copies of Required Documents (For New User)
- ‘Submit’ button will take you to the next page where you have to upload your scanned images. Once done with uploading you need to ‘pay the examination fee’.
Stage 4 – Pay Fee Online
- ‘Pay the Examination Fee’
- Candidates out there must remember that only online application fees will be accepted by the recruitment board. Candidates can pay their application fees online through a debit/credit card or net banking.
Final Submission of Application and Print Out

Reservation of Seats in JEE Main Exam 2023
On the basis of rules outlined by the government of India, the reservation will be given to the candidates belonging to certain categories. Categories which fall under reservation are:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)
- Persons with Disability (PwD) with 40% or more disability
JEE Main 2023 Exam Pattern
- JEE Main 2023 exam will have three papers, each paper for different courses such as BE/B. Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning.
- Each paper will have 3 sections.
- BE/B.Tech. will have Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry sections.
- B. Arch will have 3 parts, Mathematics, Aptitude, and Test Drawing Test.
- B. Planning will have 3 parts, Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning based Questions.
- Students who want to take admission in BE/B.Tech. course, need to appear in Paper 1, and the students, who want to take admission in B.Arch and B.Planning course need to appear in Paper 2 and Paper 3 respectively.
- Students can appear in all the papers as well for taking admission in the course they prefer.
- The time duration of each paper is for 3 hours.

Paper 1 [for B.E. /B. Tech.] Exam Pattern
- JEE Main Paper 1 will be for B.E. /B. Tech. course and conducted in ‘Computer Based Test (CBT)’ mode only.
- Paper 1 will be divided into three sections – Mathematics, Physics, and chemistry.
- Each section consists of 20 multiple choice questions and 5 NAT questions and each question will be of 4 marks.
- Every MCQ in all the sections has 4 answers including the correct one. Candidates need to select that correct answer and they will get 4 marks.
- For NAT questions, the candidate has to enter the numerical value.
- There is also a provision of negative marking for MCQs alone and not for NAT. There will be a deduction of 1 mark for selecting the wrong answer. There is no negative marking if the candidate left the question unanswered or marked for review.
- Total questions will be 100 for 300 marks and the time duration is for 3 hours.
Paper 2 [B.Arch] Exam Pattern
- JEE Main Paper 2 will be divided into three sections consists of different subjects – Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing.
- Mathematics section consist of 20 objective type questions and 5 NAT questions, and the Aptitude part contains 50 MCQs, and the Drawing part has 2 questions to be attempted on the drawing sheet [Pen & Paper Based (Offline)].
- Each MCQ will be of 4 marks, for each incorrect selection of answers, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.
- No negative marking for NAT questions and unanswered and marked for review questions.
- Part 3 Drawing test will have two questions to be evaluated out of 100 marks.
- The total questions will be 77 for 400 marks. The time duration is for 3 hours.
Paper 3 [B.Planning] Exam Pattern
- JEE Main Paper 3 will be divided into three sections consists of different subjects – Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning.
- Mathematics part will have 20 MCQs and 5 NAT questions for 100 marks, Aptitude section has 50 questions for 200 marks and Planning section has 25 questions for 100 marks.
- The total questions are 100 for 400 marks.
- The exam will be held online CBT.
- Each MCQ will have 4 marks, for an incorrect MCQ, 1 mark will be deducted as negative marking. There will be no deduction for Unanswered or marked for review questions.
- NAT question will have 4 marks, there will be no negative marking for the wrong attempt and no marks/penalty for unanswered.
Note
- Aspirants will have to select the medium of question papers [English / Hindi / Gujarati] while filling up the application form. Selected language of question papers cannot be changed at a later stage.
- Applicants are not allowed to carry any electronic devices, logarithmic tables, textual material, or calculators into the examination hall.

- Mathematics – Mathematical reasoning, trigonometry, statistics & probability, vector algebra, 3D geometry, coordinate geometry, differential equations, integral calculus, sequences & series, binomial theorem & its simple applications, mathematical induction, permutations & combinations, matrices & determinants, quadratic equations & complex numbers, limit, continuity & differentiability, sets, relations, and functions.

JEE Main 2023 Paper 2 Syllabus & JEE Main 2023 Paper 3 Syllabus
JEE Main 2022 paper 2 (for B. Arch.) and JEE Main 2022 paper 3 (for B. Planning) subjects wise syllabus is given below.
- Part I – Analytical reasoning, mental ability (verbal, numerical, and visual), visualizing (different sides of 3D objects), visualizing 3D objects from 2D drawings, texture related to building/environment, and architecture, aware of places, persons, materials, buildings, etc.
- Part II- Sketching of landscape (plants, trees, gardens, jungles, riverfronts), scenes and activities from memory of urbanscape (recreational spaces, monuments, street scenes, festivals, market, public space, etc), 3D- perception, appreciation & understanding of scale & proportion of objects, drawing & design of abstract shapes, geometrical shapes and patterns, production of the plan, 3D views of objects, elevation, etc.
JEE Main 2023 Admit Card
JEE Main 2023 admit cards will be published on the JEE Main official website 15 days prior to the exam date. As per the official information bulletin, admit cards of JEE Main [Jan] 2023 will be issued online from 23 Dec 2022 through the website. All the JEE Main 2023 aspirants need to download the admit cards from the website before one or two weeks from the date of the entrance test.
All the candidates are required to take the admit card along with the original Photo Id to the examination venue. To download an admit card, a candidate has to follow a few simple steps.

- Find and click ‘JEE Main 2022 Admit Card’ link
- Type the required information- Candidate’s application number, DOB (date of birth) & Captcha code
- Now click the ‘Submit’ button

In case, if you forget your application number then you need to follow the below process to retrieve your application number.
- Open the browser and go to JEE Main 2023 official website

JEE Main 2023 Cut Off
JEE Main 2023 Cut-off is of two types, Qualifying cut off and Admission cut off. The minimum marks a candidate needs to score to qualify for JEE Advanced 2023 examination is Qualifying cut off. Minimum marks to score for admission to BE/BTech/B.Arch/ B.Planning courses are Admission cut off.
JEE Main 2023 examination conducting authority (NTA) will release qualifying cut-off after the declaration of result on the official website.
JOSAA will release admission cut off in the form of opening and closing ranks for admission to each institute of NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
