Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Jharkhand Public Service Commission Combined Civil Services Examination is given as follows:
Nationality
The candidate, in order to be eligible to apply for the JPSC examination, should be a citizen of India. The examination doesn’t allow non-citizens to appear for the exams.
Age Limit
The exam prescribes an upper age limit which varies for reserved and unreserved categories. For unreserved category candidates, the maximum age should be 35 years. For reserved categories belonging to the SC & ST candidates, the upper age limit is 40 years.
This is applicable for both females as well as male SC and ST candidates. For female candidates as well there is a reservation, for general female candidates (BC-II and BC-I) the upper age limit is 38 years. While the upper age limit for BC-II/BC-I candidates is 37 years.
Educational Qualification
The candidate must have completed their graduation from a recognized university in the country.

Step One : Firstly, along with the application form, right at the very beginning, you will find the instructions appended. Carefully read each and every instruction mentioned.
These instructions are important for filling out the application form. Moreover, they act as a guide to the filling of the form any further.
Step Two : The applicants are to fill in the application form for JPS Combined Civil Service Examination (2021) online, accessible via the official website of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
Please note that the forms for the said examination are not available offline or through any other means but online.
Step Three : The Application form for the JPS Combined Civil Service Examination 2021 requires the personal information and academic background of the applicant. Moreover, the application also has a section for uploading documents, supporting the entries in the application.
In case the applicant is belonging to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped), they should possess and upload the documents supporting their status or reservation.
Step Four : After having filled the application form, make sure your submission is successful. At the completion, you will receive a copy of the form at the registered email address. Keep the application in soft as well as hard copies.

Application Fee
Candidates must submit the JPSC CCS application fee to complete the application process. JPSC CCS fee for general candidates will be Rs.600/- plus bank charges and for SC/ST candidates will be Rs.150/- plus bank charges. PwBD candidates are exempted from fees.
JPSC Civil Services Exam Pattern
JPSC CCS exam pattern is as follows.
Preliminary Test
- Under the Preliminary Test for the JPSC Examination, there are two separate papers of 200 marks each.
- The questions are objective type/ Multiple Choice Questions, spread over two papers.
- Both the papers are themed around General Studies and last for 2 hours each.
- There is a two-way qualification for the preliminary test, wherein there has to be a minimum qualifying mark in each of these papers plus aggregate qualifying marks in both the papers.
Main Exam (The Convention Test)
The Main Paper is a 1050 marked conventional test consisting of both subjective and objective questions. The next step to the main paper is the personal interview. The Main Paper has the following six papers:
- General Hindi and General English – 150 Marks
- Language and Literature – 150 Marks
- Social Science (Geography & History) – 200 Marks
- Indian Constitution & Polity, Public Administration & Good Governance – 200 Marks
- Indian Economy, Globalization and Sustainable Development – 200 Marks
- General Science, Environment & Technology Development – 200 Marks
Therefore, after having obtained minimum marks in each paper in the main exam, one is qualified for the Personal Interview.
Personal Interview
Personal Interview is for a total of 100 marks that will be a one-to-one conversation. Therefore, this makes the gross total of all the different examinations.

Selection Process
The Jharkhand Public Service Commission after the conduction of the exams and the interview, prepares a final selection list based on Merit. In the preparation of the final selection list, a candidate’s performance in both the tests as well as in the Personal Interview. All selected candidates should secure maximum marks or sufficient high marks both in the written examinations and personal interview as well.
JPSC Civil Services 2021 Admit Card
The Admit Card for the Jharkhand PSC CCS exam shall be made available on the official website of JPSC. After the successful submission of the application form, the admit cards are released. Once the admit card is released, the link will be shown on the website, from where the admit card can be downloaded by the candidates.
The candidates should keep both the soft copy as well as the hard copy of the admit card with themselves for future reference. Because the Jharkhand PSC has different stages of examination, for each of these examinations a separate admit card is released. The hard copy of the Admit Card to the Jharkhand PSC Combined Civil Services Examination is to be carried by the candidates to the exam center on the day of the examination. This is a strict rule and thus no candidate will be allowed to appear for the examination.

JPSC Civil Services Result 2021
JPSC CCS result (Jharkhand Public Service Commission Combined Civil Service Examination 2021) will be announced in two steps depending upon the stages of the examination. Firstly, the result of the pre-exam will be declared and then the JPSC will declare the results of the final exam after the commencement of Main Examinations and the Personal Interview.
After the completion of the pre-exam, the main examination, and the personal interview, Jharkhand Public Service Commission will publish the results of the examination on their official website. Once the results are declared, the candidates can access the same through their website.
Candidates should keep the roll number, application number, and other relevant details ready. These details might be required to access the results, once declared. The results should be downloaded and kept in copies for future reference.

JPSC Civil Services Cut Off
JPSC CCS cut off will be decided by the commission for prelim, the main exam followed by an interview. Prelim exam cut off will be decided and candidates qualified in the prelim exam will attend the main exam. Main cut off will be decided and qualified candidates will be invited for an interview. The final cut off will be decided based on merit in the Main and Interview stage.
