LIC Assistant Syllabus 2021 [Exam Pattern, Date] : Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will conduct a recruitment drive to hire suitable candidates for the post of Assistant. To make a selection of eligible candidates LIC will be conducting a two-phase selection process that consists of a written test of Prelim and Main exam. LIC Assistant Exam Pattern
- LIC Assistant Exam will be conducted in two phases, first, the candidates will be called for LIC Assistant Preliminary Exam and then the qualifying candidates will have to appear for LIC Assistant Main Exam.
- Both, Preliminary and Main Exam will be held online and contain Multiple Choice Questions.
- There will be negative marking for incorrect answers, 0.25 or 1/4th marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
- The preliminary Exam will be the same for all the candidates but the Main Exam will have two different structures for different states.

LIC Assistant Preliminary Exam
- The preliminary exam will be conducted in online mode
- It will have 100 Multiple Choice Objective Questions
- The maximum marks for the Preliminary Exam are 100
- The question paper will be divided into 3 sections
- English / Hindi section in Preliminary Exam will be qualifying in nature and merit list will be prepared according to marks scored in Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude Sections only
- You will get 1 hour to answer all the 100 questions
- There will be a penalty of 0.25 or 1/4th marks for every incorrect answer
- No marks will be deducted for any unanswered question
- The questions will be in both Hindi and English (except for the language section)
- You will need to score minimum marks in each section to qualify for the exam
LIC Assistant Main Exam
For the main exam, the states have been put together in two groups and there will be a distinct question paper (pattern) for these groups.
- Both papers will be conducted online and contain 200 MCQs for 200 marks
- Questions will be in Hindi and English (except for the language section)
- The duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes
- For Group 1, the question paper will be divided into 5 sections with each containing 40 questions
- Group 2 question paper will only have 4 sections as there will be no Hindi Language section
- For every incorrect answer, 0.25 or 1/4th marks assigned to that question will be deducted, however, no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions
- You have to score minimum qualifying marks in each section in order to qualify LIC Assistant Main Exam

LIC Assistant Selection Process 2021
Preliminary Exam
All the candidates who successfully apply for LIC Assistant 2021 will be called for Preliminary Exam which will be qualifying in nature. Those who score minimum qualifying marks will be shortlisted and called for Main Exam.
Main Exam
Candidates have to appear for Main Exam after qualifying Preliminary as the final selection will be made on the marks scored in the Main Exam only. After conducting the Main Exam, LIC will publish the final merit list on its official website and those who would be placed on the final merit list will be called for a pre-recruitment medical exam.
Pre Recruitment Medical Exam
This will be the final step before the appointment for the post of LIC Assistant. Candidates declared medically fit will be appointed to the post of LIC Assistant.
