NTPC Diploma Trainee 2021 Number of Vacancies
NTPC will invite application forms from young & energetic diploma engineers with a brilliant academic record for the post of diploma trainee in fields like Electrical, Mechanical, C&I, Mining, etc. As per NTPC’s official website, the total number of vacancies is 362. However, this total number of vacancies is further distributed among the five above-mentioned regions. Region-wise distribution of vacancies is shown below:

NTPC Diploma Trainee 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates are required to go through official notification of the respective regions before attempting the online application process. Below we have provided a few important points about NTPC recruitment 2021 eligibility criteria.
Age Limit and Relaxation
As per the official notification, on the last date of application, a candidate should be not less than 25 years. For land oustees, the upper age limit is 35 years. However, as per the rules of the Government of India, relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
Post-wise Educational Qualifications

Note:– Candidates passed in 2020 and the candidates of 2021 will be eligible to apply only. However, land oustees candidates are free from any sort of restrictions.
NTPC Diploma Trainee 2021 Application Fee
Applicants belonging to General/OBC categories should have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 300/- as their registration fee. There is no registration fee for SC/ ST/ PwBD/ XSM candidates.
To pay a fee, a candidate has to visit the nearest SBI branch along with a printed copy of “pay-in-slip”. “Pay-in-slip’ is available on NTPC’s online registration portal. On depositing the requisite amount in the SBI branch, a candidate will get a unique journal number and a branch code. At the time of attempting online registration, a candidate has to enter both unique journal numbers along with branch code.
All the interested candidates are required to cross-check their eligibility before submitting the registration fee because the fee once paid will not be repaid to them under any conditions.

NTPC Diploma Trainee 2021 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
NTPC Diploma Trainee exam will be conducted in two stages. Eligible candidates have to appear for 2 stages of the online test (computer-based test). Both stage tests are explained below:
Stage I
- It will be an online aptitude test having 120 MCQs from the following topics/subjects – General English, Quantitative aptitude & Reasoning.
- 40% will be qualifying marks for General category candidates and 30% will be for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
- The total time duration will be 120 minutes and each MCQ will be of 1 mark. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Scores of this stage test will not be added for final selection.
Stage II
- It will be an online technical test having 120 MCQs from respective disciplines.
- 40% will be qualifying marks for General category candidates and 30% will be for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
- The total time duration will be 120 minutes and each MCQ will be of 1 mark. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- There will be no skill test. The offer letter will be provided on the basis of merit in the Stage II exam.
NTPC Diploma Trainee 2021 Admit Card
NTPC will not send Diploma Trainee admit cards by post. A candidate itself has to download his/her admit card from the website. Admit card will be printed with roll number, guidelines for the examination, name of the allocated test center, etc.
