Good news for railway job aspirants out there. Railway Protection Force is going to conduct this year’s biggest recruitment event for recruiting constables in RPF and RPSF. According to Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal, Phase I recruitment process is complete now with the successful appointment of nearly 90,000 candidates and very shortly Phase II recruitment process will start. In Phase II, recruitment boards will recruit nearly 9500 candidates in Railway Protection Force (RPF) including Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) on the post of constable. On May 19th 2018, Ministry of Railways has released an official notification for recruitment of constables in Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force. RPF recruitment 2018 official notification is available in both Hindi and English languages.

RPF 2018 Number Of Vacancies

As per Railway Minister’s official tweet, total number of vacancies is 9500. It is confirmed that through this upcoming recruitment event, recruitment organization will recruit around 9500 eligible candidates in Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) on the post of constable and Sub-Inspector. RPF 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates should check eligibility criteria before applying to RPF Recruitment 2018. RPF recruitment 2018 eligibility criteria is decided by the recruiting body and all the candidates should fulfill the prescribed conditions in order to apply online for the posts of RPF constables constables. You can find RPF recruitment 2018 eligibility criteria in official notification and the same has been given below.

Citizenship : The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Age limit and Relaxation: As on July 1st 2018, an applicant should be at least 18 years old but not more than 25 years. Relaxation in upper age limit will be given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the rules of Government of India. Relaxation in upper age limit will be provided as shown in below table

RPF 2018 Application Fee & Mode Of Payment

A male candidate of general category has to pay Rs. 500/- as his application fee. However, Rs. Rs. 400/- shall be refunded to them after deducting bank charges on appearing in CBT. For female candidates, applicants belonging to SC/ST category, economically backward classes, minorities, and ex-servicemen, the examination fee is Rs. 250/-. However, this fee shall be refunded to them after subtracting bank charges on appearing in CBT.

All the candidates can pay his application fee online by using an ATM cum debit card/credit card or internet banking service. In addition to this, a  candidate can also pay his application fee offline by depositing cash at any SBI branch. Cash should be deposited along with a system generated e-challan.

RPF 2018 Application Form and Process

After release of official notification, online application portal will be opened for interested candidates. To apply for this recruitment event, a candidate has to attempt and submit online application in between June 1st to 30th, 2018. The process of attempting online application is given below:

  • Open Indian Railways’ official website
  • Search for ‘Recruitment’ tab and Click on the said tab
  • Now find and click on the ‘RPF Recruitment 2018’ link
  • Since it is your first time when you are applying for RPF job therefore go for the fresh registration process
  • For registration process, you will need a valid email ID and working mobile number
  • Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab
  • Enter the required details like name, mobile number, Aadhaar number(Optional), State/UT, Category, Education Board, email ID etc
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • Instantly, you will get a registration no through SMS and email
  • Use it to complete online application process
  • Upload the scanned copies of required documents
  • Make the payment (if applicable)
  • Submit application
  • Print it on A4 size paper

Documents needed for attempting online application

Before attempting online application, you will need to collect below mentioned few things:

  • Valid email ID and working mobile number
  • Academic certificate/documents
  • Scanned copies of image and signature in proper format
  • Scanned copies of other applicable certificates and so on.

RPF 2018 Exam Pattern, Selection Process & Syllabus

There will be a Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification (DV) round.

Stage I

CBT will be conducted at different centres across the nation. To qualify in the CBT, candidates should have to score at least 35% marks (30 % marks for SC and ST candidates). In CBT, there will be total 120 objective type questions to be solved in 90 minutes. For each correct answer, a candidate will get 1 mark. 1/3 marks shall be subtracted for each wrong answer. Question type and syllabus is given below:

General Awareness50This test will have questions relating to Indian History, Indian Constitution, Art & Culture, Economics, Geography, General Polity, Sports, General Science etc
Arithmetic35Questions will be on Number systems, profit & loss, discount, decimal & fractions & relationships between numbers, whole numbers, ratio & proportion, averages, interest, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, time & distance, ratio & proportion, use of table & graphs, mensuration etc

General Intelligence & reasoning
35Questions will be on analogies, problem solving analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, verbal & figure classification, similarities & differences, spatial visualization, non-verbal series, spatial orientation, arithmetic number series, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, coding & decoding, discriminating observation, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

Stage II

Candidates having highest number of marks in the CBT will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement (PMT). Qualifying in PET will be mandatory. The criteria for PET will be as shown below:

Stage III

Candidates qualified in PET & PMT will be called for document verification. Candidates who do not appear for Document Verification will not be considered in the final selection.

After going through all the stages successfully, a candidate will get a railway constable job in either RPF or RPSF.

RPF 2018 Admit Card

Recruitment organization will issue a separate admit card for each stage’s test/examination. Candidates need to download their admit cards from official website. No admit card will be sent by post or any other mode to any candidate. 

All the candidates should bring their e-call letters along with a valid Photo ID to the examination hall.

RPF 2018 Selection Process

RPF recruitment 2018 selection process consists of a CBT, PET/PMT & medical test. For final selection, a candidate has to undergo and qualify each test. Finally selected candidates will be posted as a constable or sub-inspector in either Railway Protection Force (RPF) or Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). 

RPF 2018 Result

Final results will be announced and published on Indian Railways’ official website. However, exact official result announcement date will be cleared after few days from the completion of recruitment examination. To check result, a candidate has to login into his/her account.
