RPF SI Recruitment 2018 – Notification, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Date, Syllabus

RPF SI 2018 Apply Online : RPF SI 2018 recruitment event is going to be conducted by the Central Recruitment Committee under Ministry of Railways, Government of India. This recruitment event will be organized to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Sub-Inspectors in Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force. To apply, eligible candidates need to submit an online application before June 30th, 2018. RPF SI 2018 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the post of Sub-inspector in Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force, candidates should meet the following eligibility conditions:


An applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit and Relaxation

On July 1st 2018, applicant must be 20 years old but not more than 25 years old. Age relaxation in upper age limit will be given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories as shown below:

Educational Qualifications

Candidates who want to apply for RPF SI 2018 recruitment event should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Degree must be obtained from recognized University. Candidates in final year of their graduation course or waiting for results of the final examination should not apply.

RPF SI 2018 Application Fee & Mode Of Payment

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ /Minorities/Economically backward class / Ex-serviceman /Female categories shall have to pay a fee of Rs. 250 as their examination fee. However, if they will appear in CBT then this fee will be refunded to them after deducting applicable bank charges.

Rest candidates shall have to pay a fee of Rs. 500/- as their examination fee. However, if they appear in CBT, Rs. 400/- will be refunded to them after deducting bank charges.

All the candidates can make payment of their examination fee through both online and offline modes. To pay fee online, they will have to use internet banking facility or debit/credit card. The online payment will be allowed till 23.59 hrs of July 2nd, 2018.

To pay examination fee offline, a candidate will have to generate an SBI Bank Challan and submit it along with requisite amount in any branch of SBI. Post office Challan payment mode is also available. Applicants who register themselves till 23.59 hrs of June 30th, 2018 can make offline payment till 11:59 pm of  July 5th, 2018.

RPF SI 2018 Application Form and Process

RPF SI 2018 application forms will be available online from June 1st, 2018. Interested candidates should have to visit si.rpfonlinereg.org/, to apply for the post of Sub-Inspectors. The process to attempt online application is explained below:

  • Go to Railway Protection Force online portal or click here 
  • Click on the online application link
  • Read all the given instructions carefully
  • Click on the given check box
  • Provide your personal details such as your name, mobile number, valid email ID, Date of Birth and Father’s name, Mother’s name, Education Board, 10th/Matric Roll number, year of passing 10th/Matric, Aadhaar number(optional), State/UT, Category etc.
  • Recheck all the filled information and make changes if required otherwise click on ‘Submit’ tab
  • Instantly, you will see a registration number and password
  • You will also receive an OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Enter the OTP to proceed with the filling up of application
  • After filling up details like Educational qualification, gender, religion etc select payment option
  • In case of offline payment, generate SBI or Post Office challan otherwise make the payment through net banking/credit card/debit card
  • Upload scanned copies of your latest PP size photo and category certificate (if applicable)
  • Submit the entire application form and print it

RPF SI 2018 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

RPF SI 2018 recruitment event includes a CBT, PET & PMT and Document Verification round. Each round of test is explained below:

Round I (CBT)

Firstly, there will be a computer based test containing 120 no. of objective type questions to be solved in total of 90 minutes. Each question will be of one mark. For each wrong answer, 1/3 marks shall be deducted from overall score. Candidates should have to score at least 35% marks (30% for SC & ST) to pass in the CBT. Further details are shown in below table:

Arithmetic (35)This section will have MCQs on fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, time & distance, ratio & proportion, use of table & graphs, mensuration, number systems, profit & loss, whole numbers, decimal & fractions & relationships between numbers etc
General Awareness (50)This section will have questions relating to Indian history, constitution, general science, sports, economics, geography, art & culture etc

Round II (PET & PMT)

Secondly, there will be a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement (PMT) for round I i.e. CBT qualified candidates. Passing round II is necessary for candidates. The criteria for PET will be same as given below:

Round III (DV)

On the basis of performance of applicant in the CBT and subject to his/her qualifying in PET & PMT, s/he will be called for round III. It will be a document verification round. Applicants who will not appear in round III will not be considered for the final selection.

RPF SI 2018 Hall Ticket

E-call letters for computer based test shall be available to download about 10 days before the date of the CBT. Eligible candidates will need to visit to Indian Railways website to download their e-call letter. All the candidates are required to know that no call letter will be sent by post.

For appearing in the CBT, candidates should have to bring their e-call letters along with their valid photo ID.

Note:- Central Recruitment Committee will issue a separate call letter for the CBT, PET & PMT and document verification.
