SSC CGL 2018 Post-wise Essential Qualifications
Junior Statistical Officer : Candidates applying for this job profile should have a graduation degree in any field from a recognized Institute or University with minimum 60% marks in Math at intermediate level.
Must have a graduation degree in any discipline with statistics as one of the subjects at graduation level
Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer : A candidate applying to this job profile must have a graduation degree in any field from a recognized Institute or University. However, desirable qualifications for this job post will be Masters in Business Economics or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Commerce or Company Secretary or cost & Management Accountant or Chartered Accountant.
All Other Posts : A candidate applying to any other post like Junior Accountant, Inspector, Sub Inspector, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Assistant/ Superintendent, Assistant Section Officer etc. should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
Note : An applicant appearing in the last year of his/her bachelor course can also apply, however s/he should possess essential educational qualifications on or before Aug 1st 2018.
SSC CGL 2018 Application Process
As per SSC’s annual calendar of examinations, candidates can attempt online application of SSC CGL in between May 5th to June 4th 2018. For this, candidates will need to follow a below given procedure

- Find ‘Apply button and choose CGL followed by clicking on Apply Online’ link

- On New registration select register option
- Fill all the required details carefully and enter the text shown in the box then submit to get registration number and password
- Complete the application by entering education details and then upload photo and signature
- Make the payment (if applicable)
- Print final submitted application form
SSC CGL 2018 Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Like always, this year as well CGL’s selection process is going to be tougher for applicants. Entire recruitment event will be divided into 4 tiers. To be finally selected for a notified post, candidates have to crack all tiers’ of examination. Tier-wise details are given below:
It will be a computer based examination having four sections namely General Intelligence Reasoning, English Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. Each section will have equal number of MCQs i.e. 25. So, total number of MCQs will be 100 and each MCQ will be of 1 mark. Candidates will get a total 60 minutes to solve 100 MCQs. On attempting a wrong answer, candidate will lose 0.50 marks under the provision of negative marking.
Candidates qualified in Tier I examination will get a chance to appear for Tier II examination. Like Tier I, it is also a computer based examination. Tier II question paper will be divided into four papers i.e. Quantitative Abilities, English Language & Comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics). Paper B i.e. English Language & Comprehension will have 200 MCQs of 200 marks. The other each paper will have 100 MCQs of 200 marks. Therefore, total number of questions will be 500 for 800 marks. To solve all questions, candidates will get only 120 minutes of duration. Negative marking system will be applicable in each paper. For selecting a wrong answer in Paper B, a candidate will lose 0.25 marks. In rest of the papers i.e. Paper A, C & D, 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Tier II qualified candidates will be called to appear in Tier III examination. It will be held in pen and paper mode. It will be a descriptive paper in English/Hindi. Candidates will have to write Essay, letter, applications and so on. Tier III total marks will be 100. Time duration will be 60 minutes. No negative marking in Tier III examination.
SSC will prepare a final merit list on the basis of candidates’ performance in Tier I, Tier II and Tier III examinations.
It will be either a Computer Proficiency Test or Skill Test (wherever applicable) and Document Verification round. CPT and skill test will be only for few posts. However, document verification round will be for all the posts.
Admit Cards and Results
Candidate scan download admit cards for each tier from the official regional SSC website before few days from the examination. Results will be declared for each tier on official website after few weeks of examination.
