TET 2021 Notification & Application Form [Exam Date, Eligibility] : Teaching profession has its origin from the social and economic changes that took place in societies. It is a professional occupation in the education sector possessing social, economical, cultural, scientific, and technological aspects. The teaching profession requires specialization in a specific field, skills of teaching, personal characteristics, didactics.
The person selecting the teaching profession has knowledge of the subject, personality traits along skills of teaching. The teacher provides service in a specific field, undergoes formal training that offers expert knowledge, professional culture, and ethics. Teaching is a distinctive profession that imparts formal education, vocational training, and other aspects of learning.
To determine the eligibility of Teachers, different organizations conduct eligibility tests. In India, the Central government and every State government annually conducts teacher recruitment tests to judge the ability/eligibility of a candidate to be a teacher in a Government school or college.
Tests organized for the recruitment of teachers are known as the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Teachers will be hired for a primary, secondary, and a higher level of education. The teacher recruitment exam is a competitive test conducted by the state / central government or any other organization to determine eligibility.
Qualifying TET is the minimum requirement for a candidate to be eligible for the competitive examination held for teaching jobs available in state / central government-owned schools from Class 1 to Class 8. TET exam is conducted by both central & state governments to select the eligible teachers for schools & colleges.
The candidates who have obtained professional qualifications like B.El.Ed., B.Ed. and B.T.C (D.El.Ed) are eligible to write a TET. In order to qualify/pass the test, a candidate has to score a minimum of 60% marks.
Teacher Eligibility Test is divided into three categories as follows

1. National Eligibility Test (NET)
National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for teaching jobs of a higher level of education. Few popular NETs are UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, CSIR UGC NET, AYUSH NET, ASRB NET, and DBT JRF.

NTA UGC NET
The National Eligibility Test is conducted by National Testing Agency on behalf of UGC for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ or for ‘Assistant Professor’. NTA UGC-NET is conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. It consists of two papers – Paper I & Paper-II. Both papers have objective type questions. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

ASRB ICAR NET
The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducts ICAR National Eligibility Test (ICAR-NET) online mode at more than 32 examination centers across India to determine the eligibility of candidates for the position of Assistant Professor / Lecturer in the State and other Agricultural Universities.
ICAR NET is a single paper having 150 MCQs for 150 marks. For every incorrect answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted. To qualify ASRB ICAR NET, unreserved candidates are required to score at least 75 marks (50%) whereas minimum qualifying marks for OBC-NCL and SC / ST / Divyang candidates are 67.5 (45%) and 60.0 (40%) respectively.

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) annually conducts AYUSH National Eligibility Test (AYUSH NET) on behalf of the following Central Research Councils

Question paper of AYUSH NET consists of 2 parts – part I is compulsory for students of all streams and has questions on General Science and Research aptitude whereas part II is a subject-specific section and has questions from the subject concerned.

2. National Level Teacher Eligibility Test (N-TET)

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) conducts the National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test (NHTET) for the selection of teachers in hospitality education. Candidates who pass NHTET are eligible to apply for the direct recruitment posts of ‘Teaching Associates’ and ‘Assistant Lecturer’ in all the 59 IHMs.
