TNTET Eligibility Criteria 2021
The TNTET eligibility criteria are different for candidates applying for teacher post classes I-V and for candidates applying for teacher post classes VI-VIII.
Minimum Educational Qualification To Appear For The TNTET Paper 1 (For Classes I-V)
Candidates Must Have:
- Passed the higher secondary level exam with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent from a recognized Board and must also have passed/appearing in the final year of the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education. (or)
- Passed the higher secondary level exam with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent from a recognized Board and must also have passed/appearing in the final year of the 2-year Diploma course in Elementary Education in accordance with the regulations as per the NCTE Regulations 2002. (or)
- Passed the higher secondary level exam with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent from a recognized Board and must also have passed/appearing in the 4-year Bachelor’s degree program in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) (or)
- Passed the higher secondary level exam with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent from a recognized Board and must also have passed/appearing in the final year of the 2-year Diploma course in Education (Special Education) (or)
- Graduated and must have passed/appearing in the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (or)
- Graduated with at least 50% marks and must have passed/appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelors in Elementary Education.
Note
- Candidates who have passed Diploma in Education/Elementary Education from any other state than Tamil Nadu must present an evaluation certificate.
- A candidate who has obtained a B.Ed. degree from any NCTE approved university/institute will have to undergo a 6 month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within 2 years of their appointment.
- Candidates who have D.Ed. /B.Ed. in Special Education must undergo an NCTE approved 6-month special program in Elementary Education after their appointment.
- In case of a degree in D.Ed. /B.Ed. (Special Education), courses recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India will only be considered.
Minimum Educational Qualification Required To Appear For TNTET Paper 2 (for Classes VI-VIII)
Candidates must have:
- Graduation degree and must have passed/appearing in the final year of 2 year Diploma course in Elementary Education. (or)
- Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and must have passed/appearing in the final year of Bachelor’s degree course in Elementary Education. (or)
- Graduation degree with at least 45% marks and must have passed/appearing in the final year of Bachelor’s degree course in Elementary Education as per the NCTE norms.
- Passed Higher Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in the 4 year Bachelor’s degree program in Elementary Education. (or)
- Passed Higher Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in the 4 year B.A./B.Sc. Ed. (or)\
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and must have passed/appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education). (or)
- All such candidates who possess a B.Ed. degree approved and recognized by the NCTE and candidates pursuing/pursued teacher education courses recognized either by NCTE/RCI are all eligible to appear for the TNTET exam 2021.
TNTET Application Form 2021
The application form for the TNTET 2021 will be released by the Teacher Recruitment Board on 4th May 2021 on their official website. Candidates will have to fill in the TNTET application form in the online mode only before the last date i.e., 3rd June 2021. They can fill the form as soon as the application portal opens up and must fill the form by paying the prescribed fee before 3rd June 2021.
TNTET – How To Apply Online?
Candidates can follow the mentioned steps to fill in the TNTET application form.
- Visit the official website of TRB @ trb.tn.nic.in
- Candidates must click on the link for applying for TNTET 2021. Two separate applications have to be filled for Paper 1 and Paper 2
- Candidates must then proceed towards the registration and filling of the application form
- All the necessary details such as name, father’s name, communication details, category, gender, academic qualification details, a paper that has been applied for, and other mandatory details
- After filling in all the details, upload the scanned photo and signature according to the prescribed dimensions. The photo must be between 20-60 kb and the signature must be between 10-30 kb. The photo and signature can be in the jpg/png/jpeg formats.
- Once all details are properly and carefully entered, candidates must pay the application fee through the online mode only using their debit card/credit card/Net banking.
Note
- Candidates who want to appear for both papers have to fill separate application forms and pay the fee separately for both exams.
- All details mentioned in the application form must be properly and carefully entered as any error that crops up later on shall not be entertained.
