UPSC CMS 2021 Apply Online : UPSC CMS 2021 Notification has been released on 7 July 2021 by Union Public Service Commission. UPSC CMSE (Combined Medical Services Exam) is conducted for the posts of Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways, Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services, and Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Services.

UPSC CMS 2021 Official Notification
UPSC CMS 2021 Notification has been released on 7 July 2021 on the website @https://www.upsc.gov.in/. UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam online application form can be submitted from 7 July 2021. The last date of the apply online process will be 27 July 2021. candidates must have to enter details of one Photo Id and upload the same to complete the online application form and they should also carry the same ID in original to the exam hall.

The candidate’s admission to each stage of the exam is purely provisional and subject to satisfying the eligibility criteria at the time of verification. UPSC CMS 2021 Eligibility Criteria
According to UPSC CMS 2021 official notification, Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility conditions for admission to the exam as below:
Nationality
An applicant should be either,
- An Indian citizen (or)
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan (or)
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before Jan 1st, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India (or)
- POI who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, or East African Countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam.
Apart from Indian citizens, other candidates must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit
As of 1st August 2021, a candidate’s age should not be more than 32 years of age to be eligible for UPSC CMS recruitment i.e., candidates must have born not earlier than 2nd August 1989.
Age Relaxation
Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for candidates belonging to certain categories. For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) age relaxation is up to 5 years. For candidates belonging to other backward classes, age relaxation is up to 3 years.

Educational Qualification
- To apply for any post under UPSC CMS 2021, a candidate must have passed the final year MBBS examination both written and practical.
- Final year students of MBBS can also apply but they should submit the proof of educational eligibility along with the Detailed Application Form before the closing date of DAF after the result of the Computer-Based exam.
- Candidates who have yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship are eligible educationally but on selection, they will be appointed only after the completion of the compulsory rotating internship.
Physical & Medical Standards

To apply online for UPSC CMS 2021, eligible candidates should have to submit an online application on the website www.upsconline.nic.in from 7th July 2021 to 27 July 2021. UPSC CMS 2021 Application Fee
Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories are exempted from UPSC CMS payment of a fee. The rest of the category candidates i.e. candidates belonging to OBC/General category are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/-.

Candidates can pay their fees either by using Visa / Master / RuPay Credit/Debit Card or by using the net banking facility of State Bank of India or by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash.
The “Pay by cash” option will be available for candidates up to 14 Aug 2021 at 23.59 hours i.e. one day before the closing date. Online payment mode will be available up to 27 July 2021 till 6.00 P.M.
Withdraw of Application Form
UPSC provides the facility to withdraw the CMS application form. Candidates can withdraw the application form between the given dates from the website of UPSC. Candidates have to verify OTPs sent on Email and Mobile to successfully withdraw the application.
Candidates who have submitted multiple application forms can withdraw the Higher Registration ID application form only and the subsequent applications considered invalid automatically.
DAF Submission
Candidates qualifying in the CBT will have to submit a Detailed Application Form online on the UPSC website. Candidates who have been declared successful have to register first on the website before submission of DAF. After registration, submit the DAF online and upload the relevant documents in support of eligibility and age relaxation.
UPSC CMS 2021 Exam Pattern
UPSC CMS will be held in two parts.
- Part I: CBT
- Part-II Personality Test
Part I: CBT
- UPSC CMS written exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) consists of two papers.
- The nature of the questions will be MCQs.
- Both the Papers (Paper I & Paper-II) will be of MBBS standard.
- Each paper will have 250 marks and the Total Marks will be 500.
- Each Paper will be of 2 hours duration.
- The question paper will be set in English only.
- 1/3rd of the marks allotted to that MCQ will be deducted as a penalty for the wrong answer.

- The total question will be 120 (96 from General Medicine, 24 from Pediatrics)

Part II: Personality Test
Students qualified in CBT will be called for an Interview/ Personality Test. It will be of 100 marks and conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
Personality Test is intended to supplement the CBT for testing the GK and candidates’ ability in the academic study, to also assess intellectual curiosity, the balance of judgment, critical powers of assimilation, and alertness of mind, the integrity of character, initiative, the ability for social cohesion, and capability for leadership.

UPSC CMS Selection Process
- UPS CMS CBT will be conducted for the candidates who have submitted application forms successfully.
- The candidates securing the cut off decided by UPSC in CBT Paper I and Paper II will be called for a personality test.
- The marks secured in the CBT and Personality Test together will be considered for final merit.
- UPSC CMS selection will be based on the merit and preferences of the posts chosen by the candidates.
UPSC CMS 2021 Exam Dates
UPSC CMS Stage I Examination i.e. Computer-based test will be held on 21 November 2021 (Sunday). The result is expected to be released in the month of Dec 2021/Jan 2021.
Stage II examination i.e. Interview/ Personality Test will be held for Stage I qualified candidates and the date will be notified by the UPSC in due course.
UPSC CMS 2021 Admit Card
UPSC CMS 2021 admit card will be released three weeks before the commencement of the examination by the Union Public Service Commission and expected in the last week of October 2021. UPSC CMSE 2021 Counselling/DV
Candidates who get shortlisted in the final merit list will be called for the final appointment. Once the final result will be released, qualifying candidates will be asked by UPSC to fill and submit a Detailed Application Form (DAF) through online mode. After filling and submitting the DAF they have to take a printout of DAF and sign each page and attach self-attested copies of the following documents and send it to the UPSC through the prescribed method.
