SBI PO 2022 Exam eligibility must be checked before filling an online application form. Essential Educational Qualifications
Applicants who have a Graduation degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. Degree must be recognized by a central/state Govt/university/institution. Graduation final year students can also apply for the SBI PO 2022 exam. But at the time of the interview, they need to present the original graduation degree or certificate of completion issued on or before 31.08.2022.
Candidates who have an integrated dual degree and passed it on or before 31 Aug 2022 and candidates having qualification of Charted Accountancy are also eligible to apply for SBI PO 2022.
Other Requirement
- Candidates with adverse CIBIL reports or from any external agencies, or with a record of default in repayment of loan/ Credit card dues, etc. are not eligible to apply.
- candidates on whose name there is an adverse report of character & antecedents, moral turpitude are not eligible to apply.

SBI PO 2022 Application Fee and Mode Of Payment
All the candidates have to pay the SBI PO 2022 application fee of Rs. 750/- including intimation charges. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories need to pay Rs 125/- as intimation charges only. General and Reserved categories are required to know that intimation/application charges once paid will not be refunded or transferred under any circumstances.

SBI PO 2022 Exam Pattern
SBI PO 2022 Exam pattern is discussed here as per the official notification. SBI will conduct SBI PO 2022 examination in three phases.
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Group Exercises & Personal Interview
The first phase will be an online Prelim examination and the second phase will be an online Main exam followed by the Group Exercises & Personal Interview. Candidate needs to qualify in the Prelim exam to appear in the Main exam, upon qualifying in the Main exam, they will be called for GE & Interview.
Phase I Prelim Exam Pattern
- The prelim exam will be held online i.e., CBT, and contain MCQs.
- The preliminary exam paper will be divided into three sections – English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
- The English Language section will contain 30 questions of 30 marks and the second and third sections contain 35 questions each and each question carries 1 mark.
- The total questions will be 100 for 100 marks.
- 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking for each wrong answer.
- The total time duration of the SBI PO prelim exam will be one hour.

Criteria Of Selection For Phase-II Main Examination
Phase I Preliminary examination will be conducted and a category wise merit list will be released by the bank. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the cumulative marks obtained in the Phase I examination. Candidates of up to 10 times of vacancies will be shortlisted and called for the Phase II main examination.
Phase II Main Exam Pattern
Candidates qualified in the Phase I preliminary examination will be called by SBI for Phase II Main examination. SBI Main exam will have an Objective test and Descriptive test.
Objective Type Test
- The objective test will be held online i.e., CBT, and contain MCQ type questions.
- The objective test will have four sections – Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (45 Questions), Data Analysis & Interpretation (35 Questions), General/Economy/Banking Awareness (40 Questions), and English Language (35 Questions).
- The total questions will be 155 for 200 marks.
- There will be a deduction of 1/4th mark assigned to the question for each wrong answer.
- The total time duration will be 3 hours.

Note – In both objective tests of the Preliminary and Main examination, the penalty for wrong answers is applicable. For every wrong answer, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as negative marking.
Descriptive Type Test
- Just after appearing in an objective test, candidates have to appear in a descriptive test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks.
- Descriptive Test will be of English Language (Essay & Letter Writing) which will have 2 questions.
- The candidates need to score minimum marks in a descriptive test as decided by the bank to qualify in this test. The score obtained in this test will also be considered for final merit.

Criteria Of Selection For Phase III Group Exercise and Interview
Once Phase II Main examination will be completed, a category wise merit list will be released by the bank. This merit list will be prepared on the basis of the cumulative marks obtained in Phase II main examination. Candidates up to 3 times of vacancies will be shortlisted and called for the Group Exercise & Interview.
Phase III Examination
Phase III will be the Group Exercise (20 marks) and Personal Interview (20 marks) of a total of 50 marks.
OBC-NCL candidates who will be appearing for Group Exercise and Interview have to submit an OBC-NCL certificate.
SBI PO 2022 Selection Process
- Phase-I Preliminary examination will be qualifying in nature; marks obtained in Phase-I Examination will be not be considered for final merit.
- To be considered for final selection, candidates will have to qualify both Phase I & Phase II separately.
- A final merit list for selection will be prepared after combining the marks obtained in the Main Examination with the marks secured in GE & Interview.
- Normalization marks will be done for the Main exam and GE & Interview. The main exam marks of 250 will be normalized to 75 and GE & Interview marks of 50 will be normalized to 25. The final merit will be for 100 marks.

SBI PO Salary
SBI PO basic pay will be 27,620/- with four advance increments on the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42022 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. There will be DA, HRA, C.C.A, Medical, and other prerequisites from time to time. On a CTC basis, the annual salary will be 8.2 to 13.08 lakhs as per the place of posting.

Joining and Training
Upon joining, a candidate has to execute a bond of 2 lac. rupees to serve a period of 3 years. In case if they resign or failed to serve before the period of 3 years, the bank will invoke the bond.
On joining the candidate will be considered as Probationary Officer and will be on Probation for 2 years. They will be assessed from time to time based on the ban standards and will be confirmed in the service as Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). Those who secure higher scores/ standards will be directly placed in the next higher grade as Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II). If a candidate fails to achieve minimum standards their service will be terminated.
