UGC NET 2020-21 Syllabus : UGC NET 2020-21 dates are out with the release of the UGC NET 2020-21 notification/information bulletin. Aspirants who want to participate in the UGC NET Dec exam 2020 must prepare themselves as date of examination is not so far.
UGC NET 2020-21 exam is likely to be held between Dec 09 to 23, 2020. However exact date and shift of examination will be disclosed by Oct 21, 2020 on NTA’s website. According to official information bulletin, NET 2020-21 exam will be held in more than 200 cities / towns.
About UGC NET 2020-21 Exam
Formerly, UGC NET exam was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education [CBSE], one of the most prominent organizations in India. But as per latest orders of Government of India, from Dec 2020 onwards, ‘National Eligibility Test’ will be organized and conducted by ‘National Testing Agency’ on behalf of ‘University Grants Commission’.
UGC NET 2020-21 exam will be conducted by NTA to find out the eligible candidates for both ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ and only for Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.

Detailed View Of UGC NET 2020-21 Exam Pattern
All the registered aspirants of UGC NET 2020-21 will have to appear in 2 papers to be conducted back to back on the same day. Both papers will have objective type questions to be solved in prescribed time duration. Both papers will be held in online mode i.e. ‘Computer Based Test’. Paper wise details are given below
Paper 1
Paper 1 will be a general paper on teaching & research aptitude. It will be an online objective type test to be held for 100 marks. In paper 1, there will be 50 MCQs, each of 2 marks. Paper 1 will be a common paper for all the candidates. Paper 1 will have questions from the following subjects/topics

Note- In Paper 1, there will be five MCQs from each above-mentioned sections. So, total no. of MCQs in Paper 1 will be 50 of 100 marks.
Paper 2
Between paper 1 & 2, candidates will get a break of 30 minutes duration. Paper 2 also will be an online objective type test. In paper 2, there will be 100 MCQs from the subject selected and mentioned by the candidate in UGC NET 2020-21 online application form. Each MCQ in Paper 2 will be of 2 marks. So, total marks will be 200. Paper 2 time duration will be 120 minutes (2 hours)

Common Points To Be Remembered (Applicable for both Papers)
- Admit card is compulsory to take participate in both papers
- Both the papers will consist of only MCQs
- Both papers will be held in two shifts
- No negative marking for the wrong answer
- No marks will be deducted for un-attempted MCQ
- A break of 30 minutes between both Paper 1 & 2 will be given to candidates
UGC NET Registration 2020-21
Candidates who have still not applied for UGC NET 2020-21 must go online now on the website www.ntanet.nic.in for UGC NET registration. UGC NET Dec exam’s registration process is going on and remain active up to September 30, 2020. The last date for submission of application fee is Oct 01, 2020.
How To Apply For UGC NET 2020-21 Exam?
Part I: Registration
- Open UGC NET’s official website
- Go through UGC NET registration process to get system generated application no.
- Enter your basic details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, mobile number & email address
- Submit the details and you will get a system generated application no.
Part II: Complete Application Form
- Select category
- Give choice of cities/towns for examination centres
- Select a subject for NET Dec exam
- Select your subjects at PG level
- Enter further details to complete your UGC NET online application form
Part III: Upload documents and make payment
- Upload scanned file of your latest passport size photo in JPG / JPEG format; File size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb
- Upload scanned file of your signature in JPG / JPEG format; file size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb
- Both uploaded images must be clear & in proper format
- After uploading files, proceed further to make payment through SBI payment gateway
- Use credit/debit card or net banking to submit fee online
- Otherwise generate an e-challan to pay fee offline
- Print confirmation page at least 4 times (recommended)
