About SSC

The Staff Selection Commission (popular as SSC) is one of the major recruitment organizations in India. SSC operates directly from under the government of India and is mainly responsible for recruiting eligible candidates for Group B and C posts in several departments and ministries of the Government of India as well as in subordinate offices. Every year, SSC conducts several recruitment examinations to employ staff for several posts.

SSC GD Constable 2018 Recruitment Process

SSC Constable 2018 exam process will consist of CBT, PET, PST & Medical examination. will consists of PST/PET, written test and medical test. PST (Physical Standards Test)/PET (Physical Endurance Test) will be organized and conducted by the CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces). Candidates qualified in PST/PET will be further called for a medical examination organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

SSC GD Constable 2018 Number Of Vacancies

The total number of SSC constable (GD) vacancies is 54953. On the basis of official notification, we can say that this year SSC will conduct written examination for more than 54,000 vacancies of constable & rifleman. However, this number of vacancies is a rough figure and can be increase or decrease. Forces-wise number of vacancies to be filled through Constable (GD) 2018 examination is given in below table.

SSC GD 2018 Eligibility Criteria

SSC Constable (GD) 2018 Eligibility Criteria has been given below

  • Nationality/Citizenship : Only Indian citizens can apply for SSC Constable (GD) 2018.
  • Age Limits (As on 1st of August 2018)SSC Constable (GD) 2018 interested candidate should be at least 18 years old but not more than 23 years. According to the rules of Government of India, relaxation in maximum age limit will be given to the candidates of special categories. For claiming age relaxation, candidates have to produce supportive document/certificate issued by concerned government authority.

  • Essential Educational Qualification (As on 1st of August 2018) : Candidates who want to apply for this upcoming recruitment examination should be passed in 10th/Matriculation examination from a recognized state or central board.

SSC GD Constable 2018 Application Fee

After attempting online application, candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 1o0/- as their application fee for SSC Constable 2018 Exam. This amount of application fee is applicable for all the candidates except women aspirants as well as candidates belonging to ST, SC & ex-servicemen categories.

Candidates can pay their application fee online by using SBI challan/net banking/debit and credit cards. Candidates are required to know that fee once paid will not be refunded or transferred under any circumstances.

SSC GD Constable 2018 Application Form & Process

All the candidates have to attempt and submit SSC constable 2018 online application form on SSC’s website ssconline.nic.in before September 30th 2018 till 5 PM. But, before attempting online application, candidates must read the instructions carefully available on the website. Online application will be completed in two parts:

  • Part I registration
  • Part II registration

How To Fill SSC GD Constable 2018 Online Application?

  • Go to the SSC’s official website@ ssconline.nic.in
  • Now, click on the ‘Click Here to Apply’ link available under ‘Recruitment of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, 2018’ main heading
  • On clicking the said link, you will be landed on a new page where you have to make Part I & II registration carefully
  • For Part I, click on the ‘Register’ button available under ‘New Registration’ heading
  • Fill the required details carefully and click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • Now, you will see registration no. on your computer’s screen. Note it down carefully as you will need it for Part II registration
  • Now, go to Part II registration by entering your ‘Registration no.’ & ‘password’
  • Write the text as shown in the box and click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • In Part II application form, candidates have to pay their application fee and upload photograph and signature
  • After, completing all the formalities given in Part II application form, click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • Now, your application is finally submitted
  • Print it on A4 size paper to use in future

SSC GD 2018 Written Test Pattern and Syllabus

SSC Constable (GD) 2018 Written test pattern and syllabus has been given in the official notification. Firstly, there will be an online examination i.e. Computer Based Examination for all those applicants who will successfully fill and submit an online application. Written test will be an online examination having 100 MCQs of 100 marks to be solved in 90 minutes. Question paper will be divided into four sections having equal number of MCQs- General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics & Hindi/English. The syllabus for the written examination is given in below table

English/Hindi 25This section contains MCQs from basic comprehension.

Note – All the sections contain MCQs of 10th/Matriculation level. All the MCQs will be in Hindi & English only.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates qualified in Computer Based Examination will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST). PET / PST will be conducted by CAPFs at several centres. PET consists of a race to be completed in assigned time. Time duration for a PET (race) will be as follows:

Medical Examination

After qualifying PET / PST, candidates should have to go through a detailed medical examination (DME). At the time of detailed medical examination, document verification will be done.

SSC GD Constable 2018 Admit Card

Few days prior to the written test, the Staff Selection Commission will issue SSC GD Constable 2018 Admit cards to the candidates. To download your admit card, you need to login into your account available on SSC’s website.

This year, SSC will offer a chance to candidates to select centers for examination of their choice. SSC GD Constable 2018 Result

After few days from the date of written examination, SSC will release answer key and results on its website. To check SSC Constable (GD) 2018 result, candidates have to visit SSC’s website after result announcement. Exact date of result announcement is yet to be released by the Staff Selection Commission.
